Horses have always been a part of my life and I have been riding and taking lessons since I was eight years old. I have participated in 4-H and OHSET (Oregon High School Equestrian Team), have ridden and shown dressage, jumping, English equitation and Western equitation, have done in-hand work and spent thousands of hours on all kinds of trails.
My riding style has an English foundation, plenty of natural horsemanship techniques and encompasses all the knowledge I have gathered from great instructors and trainers. When working with a horse I never set a goal we can’t achieve. I’m patient and I don’t believe in forcing a horse to conform. Instead, my goals are to teach that doing what I ask is easier and leads to nice rewards – breaks from work and lots of praise. When I first meet a new horse I always start off with groundwork. This gives me an opportunity to see what the horse’s behavior and personality are like. This way I can tailor a program that fits best with the horse’s personality and background.
Here on this site, I write about the current horses I am working with and their progress so you can follow along and learn with me! I also share photos and videos on a regular basis.
I love working with horses and sharing my horse knowledge so if you’ve got questions feel free to ask them in the comments or question section.
